Kids, submit your best scientific ideas and you could win one of three trips to work with a scientist to develop your idea in Pulse of the Planet's Kids' Science Challenge. Other prizes will also be awarded.
Eligibility:
US residents enrolled in third through sixth grades

Limit of one entry per science category..
Sweepstakes Prizes:
Grand Prizes (3 - 1 per category): A trip for the winner and his or her parent or legal guardian to work with a scientist to develop their winning idea. The prize includes airfare, hotel, select events and sightseeing, and meals. (ARV: $3,000)
Early Bird Prizes (first 1,000 to enter): A science kit.
Teacher Prize (for teacher who submits the most entries): A prize to be used in his or her classroom.
School Prize (3 - 1 for each winner's school): A plaque.

To enter, submit an idea, question, or problem for a participating scientist to solve in the categories of:
???Super Stuff for Sports (Materials Science): Propose a way to improve a sport using materials science.
???Sensational Sounds (Musical Acoustics): Propose a new kind of musical instrument.
???Magical Microbes (Microbiology): Propose a new way that microorganisms can help the world we live in.
10 finalists will be chosen on the basis of Originality, Content's relation to stated criteria, and Overall presentation. Each of the finalists will be contacted for a phone interview to determine the winners.
