Submit a Mediterranean-style recipe inspired by Crisco oils for your chance to win one of nine finalist prizes of a year of Crisco Olive Oil and a cookware set, or a grand prize of a trip to Italy worth $7,500.

US residents who are not food professionals, and who have not graduated from an accredited culinary program, 18+

Sweepstakes Prizes:
Grand Prize: A trip for 2 to Italy including airfare, hotel, and tours. (ARV: $7,500)
Finalist Prizes (9 - 3 per category): A year's supply of Crisco Olive Oil products and a cookware set. (ARV: $250)
Additional Comments:
To enter, submit a Mediterranean-inspired recipe that contains at least 2 tablespoons of Crisco Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Crisco Pure Olive Oil, or Crisco Light Tasting Olive Oil and a minimum of 2 ingredients commonly used in Mediterranean-style cooking from the following list of items: tomatoes, garlic, olives, pasta, yogurt, legumes, fresh herbs, lentils, cheese. You must also prepare an essay in 100 words or less describing how Crisco Olive Oil inspired your recipe.
There are three categories, one each for Crisco Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Crisco Pure Olive Oil, or Crisco Light Tasting Olive Oil.
Entries will be judged in each category on the basis of likely taste, creativity, and ease of preparation. The essays corresponding to the recipes will be judged on relevance to theme, creative expression, and clarity. The top 5 entrants in each Olive Oil category will be named semi-finalists.
The semi-finalist recipes will then be prepared and judged by a qualified panel of judges and assigned points based on the following criteria: taste (0-40 points), creativity of recipe (0-30 points), ease of preparation (0-20 points), and appearance (0-10 points). Essays will be judged on the basis of relevance to theme (1-25 points), creative expression (1-15 points), and clarity (1-10 points). Points from recipe judging and essay judging will be combined to determine the top 3 Finalists in each Olive Oil category. The finalist with the highest score will receive the grand prize.
