You'll have to find out if it's available for your area.

Free services offered for New Year's celebration
You can get your car towed if you're feeling too tipsy.
And for once that's a good thing.
That's because AAA is once again offering its Tipsy Tow service
for people who might have had too much to drink.
People can catch a ride home and have their car towed for free
up to 10 miles. A maximum of two people can ride in the truck.
The service runs now through 11:59 p.m. January 1.
The number to request Tipsy Tow is (800) 222-4357.

The service is restricted to the driver's residence. Drivers can expect to pay the rate charged by the tow truck contractor for rides beyond 10 miles.

1. Have a designated driver. If one of your friends doesn't drink, great! Carpool and be safe. Let the sober guy drive, and stop yelling at him from the back seat.

2. Use AAA's Tipsy Tow program. Just call the number listed for your area, and tell the operator you need a "tipsy tow". You don't have to be a member to get a free 5-15 mile one-way tow home (rules vary by region).

Here are some links detailing the program in each area.

Southern California - up to 7 miles. 1-800-400-4AAA
Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Lawton and Norman - 15 miles, 1-800-AAA-HELP
Texas - 10 miles, 1-800-AAA-HELP
Northern California, Utah, Nevada - 5 miles, 1-800-AAA-HELP

To check if there's a AAA office servicing your area, visit the AAA website and enter your zip code. You will be redirected to the regional office, where you can find out if the tipsy tow service is available in your area.
