The prize includes a consultation with the Ace team to identify things that need to be fixed (ie. weatherproofing energy efficient windows, pest control, etc.) and the repair of the items that need to be fixed. (ARV: $15,000)
1st Prize: A $200 Ace Hardware Gift Card. (ARV: $200)
2nd Prize: A $100 Ace Hardware Gift Card. (ARV: $100)
3rd Prize: A $50 Ace Hardware Gift Card. (ARV: $50)
Additional Comments:
To enter, submit an essay of 100 words or less describing why you deserve a Forecast Fix Up from Ace Hardware and The Weather Channel along with a current, original, unaltered digital color photo depicting the problem area of your home.
Four finalists will be selected on the basis of Essay's Clarity of Written Expression (0-25 points), Originality of Problem Described/Depicted (0-25 points), Entrant's articulation, confidence, personality, and enthusiasm (0-25 points), and Demonstration of the Need for the Makeover (0-25 points).
The finalists will each be given a telephone interview and scored on the basis of articulation and confidence (25 points), Finalist's ability to speak to a large group of people (25 points), personality (25 points), and enthusiasm (25 points). The telephone interview score will be added to the original score to determine the winner.
