Official Rules: US, Void AK, HI, 18+. January 22 – January 31, 2020 at 12:00 pm ET. One entry per person.

How to Enter: submit two photos of you and your dog and an essay on the following theme: “tell us why your dog is America’s best dog”. Statement must be no longer than 500 words. The essay must be original, written by you, and in the English language. Photo must have been taken by you. Professional Photos with watermarks are not eligible. You must have the permission of any person who appears, or is identified or otherwise referred to, in your Photo or Statement. If any minors appear in Photo, the entrant must be that minor’s parent and/or legal guardian.

You must be the owner of the dog that appears, or is identified or otherwise referred to, in your Photo or Statement. Dog must be at least six months old as of the start of the Contest Period. Dog may not weigh more than twenty pounds.

Entries must be received by January 31, 2020 at 12:00 P.M. ET.

Three Rounds of Judging:

Round 1: Initial Judging to Determine the Semifinalists
Round 2: Judging to Determine the Finalists
Round 3: Judging to Determine the Winner.

Judging Criteria: Originality (33.33%), Creativity (33.33%), and Appropriateness to Theme (33.33%).

Semifinalists: On or about February 4, 2020, Sponsors will contact each Semifinalist and conduct an interview (e.g., on Skype, by phone, or in-person), after which they will select six potential Finalists based on the Judging Criteria.

On-air Competition to Determine Winner: On or about February 19, 2020, Finalists and their Dogs will take part in a competition on the TODAY Show. One or more qualified judges will review the performances of the Finalists and their Dogs and will select one Finalist as the winner based on the Competition judging criteria as determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion.

Grand Prize (1): A trip for Winner and one guest to Los Angeles, CA. LA Trip includes roundtrip, coach-class air transportation for Winner and Guest from a major commercial airport near Winner’s home to Los Angeles, CA; two night’s accommodations (single room, double occupancy, room and tax only) at a hotel in or around Los Angeles, CA as determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion; and two VIP tickets for Winner and Guest to the Beverly Hills Dog Show presented by Purina scheduled to take place on February 29, 2020 at the Pomona Fairplex, Pomona. ARV: $4,000

Finalist Prizes (6): A trip for Finalist and his/her Dog to New York, NY to appear on the TODAY Show and the opportunity to take part in the Competition on February 19, 2020. NY Trip includes roundtrip, coach-class air transportation for Finalist and his/her Dog from a major commercial airport near Finalist’s home to New York, NY, and one night accommodations (single room, double occupancy, room and tax only) at a hotel in or around New York, NY as determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion. ARV: $2,000

Finalists must be available to travel February 18, 2020 through February 19, 2020 (or on such other dates designated by Sponsors). Winner must be available to travel February 28, 2020 through March 1, 2020 (or on such other dates designated by Sponsors).
