I do not know if this site represents a legitimate opportunity. STAP is a legitimate government program that does in fact require a voucher certified by a professional, but I have not been able to confirm if this particular event is part of the STAP process of voucher certification. The Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program (STAP) is a state funded program that provides electronic tablets to the residents of the State of Texas. This program does not require a social security number, information regarding the applicant’s income, nor does participating in the program interfere or effect any government benefits. The tablet is free of charge to the applicant.
The only information that is required is:
1. First and Last name
2. Address
3. Date of Birth
4. Signature
5. Proof of Residency in the form of one of the following: ​

Driver’s License
State ID Card
Voter Registration Card
Or Utility Bill
(Expired ID’s are not accepted)
(Correct address is required! No exceptions)

An approved certifier must be present when any applicant is signing their application. The certifier will sign off on each application attesting that the applicant qualifies based on their age appropriateness and paperwork being submitted. Once the application is submitted it will take the Austin STAP office approximately 6 months to process the application Once your application is approved, a voucher is issued for the specified product and the state will mail the voucher package to the applicant. When the applicant receives the voucher in the mail, I will deliver the tablet once again free of charge.

This is a state funded program that provides electronic tablets to the residents of the State of Texas. It is not associated, nor will it affect any federal or local government assistance you are receiving.

Step 1: Complete the RSVP on this page.

Step 2: You can only apply in person on the Day/Time/Location listed above. You cannot apply for anyone else!

Step 3: If you qualify show proof of Texas Residency. Applicants must provide one (1) of the following:

Driver’s License
State Card
Voter Registration Card
(Expired ID’s are not accepted)
OR Utility Bill
(Correct address is required! No exceptions)

​STEP 4: The state of Texas will process your paperwork and mail a voucher to you about 150 days after you applied. When you receive the voucher, Call Angela Senegal ​to pick up your tablet.
