I always make afghans for new babies in the family. Of course, I procrastinated getting started on Kaiden's and he's due in less than 3 weeks! He's going to be a C section, so we know he'll be here on 2/28/11. Here's the afghan I'm making him, but I'm using a slightly different color scheme to match the nursery. I just hope I get the scale right on the granny squares! No time for mistakes.

What fortunate grand baby to be wrapped up in something that beautiful and made with so much love!! Can't wait to see his sweet face. I just love babies.
We're all excited too! He's bound to be gorgeous. I tell everyone that I'll take any baby and raise it if you promise to take it back on it's 13th birthday! LOL!! Babies are SO much easier than teenagers!

Kaiden came a few days early! He weighed 7lb 10oz and has a head full of dark hair. We had planned on being there for the birth since he was a scheduled C-section, but he paid no attention to the schedule! LOL! Brandi and Jeff aren't sure when she'll be released from the hospital so we're going to go down Saturday or Sunday, after they get home. Pictures to come...of course! And I'm still joining granny squares!I've been crocheting for decades, but for some reason I'd never done them so it's been a little slow going.
